Company description
I would like to give you information as to who we are and interest you in our services. I primarily entered the lettings market in 1968 dealing with a mixed portfolio of flats and houses, which were mainly unfurnished with long term occupants. This enabled me to learn some of the legal aspects of management at that time. Subsequently, I entered the lettings market professionally as a property manager and over a period of 22 years built a substantial portfolio dealing with client's properties. During that time there was a major change in legislation and on the 15TH January 1989 the 1988 Housing Act was placed on the statute books. Continuous CPD education has enabled me to improve my skills with membership of The National Association of Estate Agents and along with the practical operation in property management has kept me at the forefront of the business.
On the 13TH March 1995 Charles Lamb Residential Lettings was created and because of my commitment to clients a strong and sound business has evolved. On the 1ST February 1997 my wife Lois became an equal partner in the business and from that date we have continued to go from strength to strength.
Our office staffing is complemented with our full time accounts technician who deals with all aspects of the financial side of the business, which is a substantial operation; we also have a full time and part time receptionist-secretary who deals with all aspects of the operational side of the business.
Lois is continuously in and out of the office, assisting in the vetting of tenants, inspecting properties, carrying out check-ins and check-outs and, ensuring that the properties are kept in a good serviceable and safe condition. She also ensures we are up to date with current legislation such as gas safety certificates and assists to operate the business successfully and efficiently.
I continue to meet clients, initially to value properties and give them advice on the legal legislation and what to expect in the real world. I am also able to give advice for furnishings and also carry out refurbishments of properties, including schedules of works and costs.
We are a family business giving all clients a quality service, the knowledge that they are receiving individual advice and attention at all times. Our ultimate aim is to bring landlords and tenants together, with ourselves as the catalyst in a professional and satisfactory partnership.
