Garstang is the world’s first Fair Trade Town and Britain’s representative in the 2008 Entente Floriale. A small historic country town lying on the west bank of the River Wyre, Garstang is amid pastoral land bounded by the hills of the Forest of Bowland to the east. The town is conveniently located with access to the national motorway network within short distances to the north and south along the A6 which skirts the town to the west.

Garstang offers the normal range of shops and services with a centuries old Thursday Street Market. It has a strong community identity and provides many sporting and recreational activities, several of which are along the picturesque Lancaster Canal which meanders through the town.
